CarSchool

Privacy Policy

Effective with CarSchool 1.0 (October 19, 2026)

CarSchool ("the app") is made by iView Global ("we", "us"). It is for parents who share school drop-offs and pick-ups. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, how long we keep it and the choices you have. We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use your family's information for advertising.

What we collect

InformationWhy
Account: name, email address, phone number (optional), profile picture (optional)Sign-in, and showing your name, picture and phone number to the parents in your carpools
Your kids: first names and optional photos, and which carpools they ride inShowing who is picked up and dropped off, to the parents in that carpool
Home address and the map pin we work out from itPlanning each trip's stops in a sensible order. Other parents see only your pin on the trip map, never the written address.
Carpool details: the carpool's name and school, times, rotation, the slots you drive, swaps, covers, trips owed, school holidays, board posts, comments and likesRunning the carpool's schedule
The driver's location during a trip: only on the driver's phone, only from when they start a trip until they end it (or it ends on its own after 3 hours without an update)Showing the parents in that carpool where the car is, the route and which stops are done, in the app and on their lock screen. The live position is deleted when the trip ends; a simplified route picture, the trip's minutes, miles and number of kids are posted to the carpool's board.
Holiday lists you upload: a photo, PDF or Word file of the school calendarReading the days off. The file is read on your phone; only the dates and names you keep are saved.
Your fun car and notification settingsShowing your car on the map, and sending only the notifications you want
Your plan (Free or Pro)Turning Pro features on for you and your carpools
Device information: push notification token, lock-screen card token (iPhone), phone type, app versionSending notifications and the trip card, and fixing problems
App usage: the days you open the app and which features are used (for example swaps or holiday upload), with phone type and app versionSeeing which features people use. Our dashboard only shows totals, never who did what.
Error reports: where an error happened, the error message and technical details, your user id and phone typeFinding and fixing bugs. Error reports never include addresses, locations or kids' names.

We don't collect contacts, advertising identifiers or browsing activity, and we don't use third-party analytics or advertising services. When a new account is created, or the app or our servers hit an error, our team receives an email with the account's name, email address, user id and phone type, or the error details above.

Who can see what

A carpool is private: only parents who joined with an invite code are in it. They see each member's name, picture and phone number, the kids' first names and photos, the schedule, swaps and board, and during a trip the driver's position and the map pins of that trip's stops. Carpool admins can remove members. A co-parent you invite sees and drives your family's trips. Nobody outside the carpool sees any of it.

Who processes your data

The app stores data in Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions and Cloud Messaging), operated by Google LLC in the United States as our service provider. Notifications and the lock-screen card are delivered by Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Maps and routes. Maps are shown with Apple Maps on iPhone and Google Maps on Android, which load the map of the area being shown. To draw the road route of a trip, the stop locations (not names or addresses) are sent to Apple Maps on iPhone, or to Google's Routes service on Android. Searching for a school or address uses Apple Maps on iPhone and Google's geocoder on Android; when those find nothing, the search text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Photon search (photon.komoot.io). Apple's and Google's own privacy policies apply to their map services.

We may disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep it

Your choices

Children

CarSchool is for parents and guardians aged 18 or over. Children don't use the app or create accounts. A parent may add their own children's first names and photos, which are shown only to the parents in that child's carpools. A parent can change or delete them at any time. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Google Cloud. Access rules let only the parents in a carpool read that carpool's information, and only you read your own account.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
